What is the largest LED screen?
There is no technical limit: the structure and the processor set it. Our catalog goes up to 10 × 6 m (60 m²) and we build larger screens to order.
How much power does a giant LED screen use?
300 W per m² on average and 600 W at most: a 6 × 3 m screen uses about 5.4 kW on average.

Pitch = millimetres between pixels. Rule of thumb: P2 from ~2 m · P2.6 from ~3 m · P3.91 from ~4 m · P4.81 and P5 from ~5 m.
4K, 8K and 16K are pixels, not sizes
4K = 3,840 × 2,160 pixels · 8K = 7,680 × 4,320 · 16K = 15,360 × 8,640. A 4K screen measures 10 × 5.6 m in P2.6 and 15 × 8.4 m in P3.91; a 6 × 3 m screen in P2.6 has 2,304 × 1,152.

One square metre of a complete LED screen, delivered to your door, costs from 1,180 to 3,800 USD. Pixel pitch, brightness (nits), use and cabinet decide it: with the same pitch, extreme brightness can raise the price by up to 65%.

How a giant LED screen works: from the signal to the LED

Screen
Cabinets joined without bezels, daisy-chained by data and power cables. The processor scales the signal to the full resolution and distributes it; 7,680 Hz refresh rate, flicker-free on camera.

Cabinet
Chassis that holds the modules, with its receiving card (it receives its part of the image) and its power supply. 500 × 500, 500 × 1000 or 960 × 960 mm depending on the model.

Module
Board with the pixel matrix and its circuits. The pitch (mm between pixels) sets the resolution and the viewing distance.

LED (pixel)
A red, green and blue trio: the colour comes from mixing the intensity of the three. Outdoors we use SMD1921 LEDs.
Signal path
- Step 1 Video source Your computer, camera, video mixer or player.

Processor and content management
Your screen arrives with a processor and software. We choose the equipment based on what you will show and your budget.
- Events and stages Live signal from your computer, camera or video mixer. NovaStar VX series (VX400, VX600, VX1000, VX2000) or H series (H2, H5) for large productions.
- Advertising Scheduled content: playback by time slots. NovaStar Taurus players, from TB10 to TB60, or more powerful options.
- Other brands VDWall (LVP100, LVP615) when the project calls for it. As manufacturers, we are not tied to a single device.
- Configuration NovaStar NovaLCT software: we configure and calibrate the screen with you.
