How to choose your large outdoor LED screen

Three facts decide your screen: the size, your audience’s distance and the light at the site.

  1. Step 1

    Measure the space in meters, width by height

    It is built from 0.5 m cabinets (events) or 0.96 m cabinets (fixed).

  2. Step 2

    Choose the pixel pitch by audience distance

    The farther the audience, the larger the pitch and the lower the price per m².

  3. Step 3

    Select the right brightness for the installation site

    4,500 nits for events, 5,500 standard and 10,000 premium in full sun.

How it works outdoors

Inside it is the same technology as indoors; the difference is that each cabinet is IP65-sealed against rain and dust. What a giant LED screen is, in general: giant LED screen.

  1. Screen

    Frameless cabinets joined together, daisy-chained by data and power cables. The processor scales the signal to the full resolution. 7,680 Hz on the event models (P2.6 to P4.81): no flicker on camera.

  2. Sealed cabinet

    IP65 chassis with its receiving card and power supply inside. 500 × 500 or 500 × 1000 mm for rental; 960 × 960 or 1152 × 960 mm for fixed.

  3. Module

    Board with the SMD1921 LEDs and their circuits. The pitch sets the resolution and the viewing distance.

  4. LED

    A red, green and blue trio per pixel. Outdoors it runs at 4,500 or 5,500 nits to beat the sun.

Facade

Only if there is rear access for maintenance. If the facade has no service walkway, it is built into the structure. On some projects we supply the structure.

Rooftop

Structure built to local regulations, with our suggested drawings. Reference weight: 630 kg for a 6 × 3 m P5.

The fixed cabinet is serviced from the back: that is why the structure includes a service walkway.
